British couple head back to Seychelles for 25th wedding anniversary
A British couple who got married in Seychelles 25 years ago came back to the sun-kissed islands to mark their silver wedding anniversary.
It was in May 1988 that Ken and Helen Smith said ‘I do’ at the Beau Vallon Bay hotel in a fairy-tale setting. Photographs of the ceremony still bring back lovely memories of this beautiful day when hotel guests also gathered to watch.
Since taking their vows, a lot has happened in the lives of the couple who today have a growing family, including two grand-children.
Over the years, they have visited other countries like the United States of America, Greece, Cyprus, Spain, France and other European destinations. However, as their silver wedding anniversary was on Saturday May 4, Ken and Helen said there would have been no better destination to mark this milestone than in Seychelles itself!
“We have great affections for the Seychelles and since we got married in those beautiful islands on this beautiful day 25 years ago, we thought it was fitting that we come back here to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary,” said Ken.
The couple, who stayed at Constance Ephelia Resort this time, returned to the Beau Vallon Bay hotel (now Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort and Casino) on the date of their anniversary to recall memories of their 1988 wedding.
They said they had a marvellous stay in Seychelles and the staff had been making them feel extra special.
“We had longed to return to the islands and we are genuinely excited to be here and seeing all those beautiful people again,” said Ken.
