Chance to get your degrees right here
18.07.2009
This year will go down in history as the time Seychellois first enrolled for degree courses in their own university.
The University of Seychelles (UniSey) has opened its doors to all aged 17 and up who qualify to apply for the degree programmes advertised this week in the Nation.
Pre-registration ends on Thursday next week, and applications will be accepted up to August 10 to allow full-time courses to start in September.
There’s no place like home, and those who enrol and follow the courses here will not be away from their loved ones or our unique and tranquil environment that is devoid of pollution, yet they will get internationally recognised qualifications from two universities, because of the link with the University of London.
Classes at the university will be smaller than most overseas, meaning UniSey students will get more attention from their lecturers.
The cost will be only a fraction of what parents would have to pay for studies overseas, and scholarships are available to those who need them.
Every Seychellois who qualifies, especially our young citizens, should
jump at the chance to join the university.
Never before was it more attractive to join a university with the guarantee of boosting prospects for a locally relevant career. As the marketing team goes around the districts, those who know they should enrol should take the opportunity now. The team will be in Anse Boileau today.
Meanwhile, the rest of us must truly come together as Seychellois and continue supporting this budding national project we are already so proud of, with good reason.
