The State Councillor and Minister for National Defence of the People’s Republic of China, General Liang Guanglie, arrived in Seychelles yesterday on a four-day official visit.

General Liang is expected to call on President James Michel today at State House, after which he will be guided on a tour of the Seychelles Coastguard facilities on Bois de Rose Avenue.

He was met on arrival at the airport yesterday afternoon by the Minister for Home Affairs, Environment, Transport and Energy Joel Morgan, the Minister for Foreign Affairs Jean Paul Adam, the Chief of Defence Forces Brigadier Leopold Payet, and other high ranking officers of the Seychelles People’s Defence Forces.

General Liang will leave Seychelles on Sunday.
