Free wireless internet at Seychelles airports

Focused on delivering the highest quality of service to its customers the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority has launched a free wireless internet service at the Seychelles airports.

The project which was done in partnership with local telecommunication firm Cable & Wireless was initiated following high demands from passengers and other customers who access the Seychelles International Airport and domestic terminal on Mahé and the Ile des Palmes airport on Praslin.

The launch was held recently at the SIA as part of activities to celebrate information and communication technology week.
It was the principal secretary for information communications technology Benjamin Choppy who officially launched the Wi-Fi service in the presence of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Transport Joël Morgan.

Also present were the chief executives of Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) Gilbert Faure and for Cable & Wireless Charles Hammond as well as other high government officials and staff.
During the ceremony there was also the signing of a memorandum of understanding by Messrs Faure and Hammond to seal the free wireless internet service.

The internet service is being provided based on terms and conditions of the memorandum of understanding between the SCAA and Cable & Wireless.  The SCAA will offer the service free of charge accessible for a period of one hour to customers and beyond the one hour limit customers have to pay to use this service via their account with Cable & Wireless.
