Intellectual property rights in focus
11.08.2009
Intellectual property rights will be in focus this week at a training session to help Seychelles pursue its negotiations on an economic partnership agreement with the European Community.
Since the country has also reopened the process of joining the World Trade Organisation, it was felt that a review of the laws and policies relating to these rights was needed.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, is holding a national workshop on intellectual property rights from today until Thursday at the Coco D’Or Hotel, Beau Vallon.
The main objective is to create awareness of the subject, as well as to strengthen Seychelles’ capacity to draw up and enforce intellectual property-related legislation in view of both sets of negotiations.
