Children at the School for the Exceptional Child have again been given an early Christmas treat by the Lions Club of Paradise Seychelles (LCPS).
They enjoyed a Christmas lunch last week with Minister for Education Bernard Shamlaye, Ln Amiruzzaman – who is president of the Lions Club of Dhaka Baridhara East, Bangladesh, and Seychelles’ honorary consul in Bangladesh – LCPS president Ln A.K.Singh and several members.
Other guests included Roche Caïman’s National Assembly member Jeovanna Charles and staff of the school. Father Collin Underwood was also present to give his blessing.
The lunch was sponsored by the Ramani Group and VKV of Dubai. Thanking the guests for attending, event sponsor Ln Ramani said children are our future and to serve them is a prime desire.
He said it was a golden chance to serve the children and make their hearts glow during this Christmas occasion.
The school’s headteacher Monica Accouche thanked all those present for their support, the gifts given to the children and the Ladies of Charity for donating a fridge to the school.
Mr Shamlaye also thanked the LCPS on behalf of the government and the people of Seychelles.
“The charitable gesture of the Lions club in providing good support and comfort to the children of the school during the festive season is to be appreciated by all,” he said.
“It should be a forerunner to others to follow and help the needy in society.”
