A new group of 11 Seychellois students arrived in Beijing, China, on Tuesday and were welcomed at the airport by Seychelles’ ambassador to China, Philippe Le Gall.
In a short message to the Nation newspaper, Mr Le Gall said they were all in high spirits.
He said the students will spend their first year learning Chinese – seven of them in Nanjing, three in Beijing and one in Wuhan – before starting their studies at universities in Nanjing, Wuhan, Zhejiang, Beijing, Dalian, Hehai, Harbin and Shanghai.
All of them are expected to complete their studies in July 2014.
Wishing the students a successful and happy stay in China, Mr Le Gall said he has assured them that they may contact the Seychelles embassy in China at any time should they need any form of help.
“It is one of our top priorities to help them on behalf of the Seychelles government,” he said.
