President James Michel has sent a message of condolence to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev following the suicide bombings in Moscow in which 38 people were killed.
The text of the message, sent via the Russian embassy in Seychelles, reads as follows:
“It was with profound sadness that Seychelles learned of the Moscow Metro blast that left dozens of Russians dead and many injured.
“On behalf of the government and the people of the Republic of Seychelles, I would like to extend my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to you, to the relatives and friends of the victims of the bomb blast, and to the people of the Russian Federation.
“The government of Seychelles would like to reaffirm that it condemns this act and any other acts of terrorism and expresses its solidarity with the Russian Federation in this moment of national sorrow.”
