President to meet ambassadors ahead of symposium on maritime security

President James Michel is scheduled to meet all Seychelles ambassadors today to discuss continued efforts to promote Seychelles’ international image through the principles of active economic diplomacy.

The President has scheduled his yearly meeting with the ambassadors to coincide with a symposium on maritime security that Seychelles will be hosting next week at the Le Meridien Barbarons and in which all the ambassadors will be taking part.

“This visit, from all our ambassadors, marks the time each year when we come together to reaffirm our collective vision for Seychelles and strategise for the year ahead.

This year it has been planned to coincide with an important event that Seychelles is organising, where we will be discussing maritime security concerns with particular attention to the threat of piracy that we have recently been faced with,” Foreign Affairs Minister Jean-Paul Adam said yesterday.
