Seychelles at New York Times 2010 show
Seychelles will be represented at the New York Times 2010 Travel Show in the United States from February 26-28.
Alain St Ange, director of tourism marketing at the Seychelles Tourism Board, and Anna Butler-Payette from 7 Degrees South are leaving next week on a promotional trip to help open up Seychelles as a holiday option in that market.
Next Friday, the Seychelles representatives will join a panel of four other regional tourist boards invited by the Association for the Promotion of Tourism to Africa at a forum to discuss travel opportunities to the continent.
Mrs Butler-Payette has been invited to address an audience of tour operators and retail travel agents on the subject of Seychelles as an add-on to African safaris and also as a honeymoon and wedding destination.
She and Mr St Ange will also give an interview to Babbie de Derian, editor of the Travel, Food & Spa magazine and meet other members of the travel industry.
They will be joined at the travel show by Seychelles’ ambassador in the USA, Ronny Jumeau, and the proposed tourism ambassador for New York, Jacqueline Elias.
This tour forms part of Seychelles’ ongoing marketing initiatives to raise the profile of the country and the suite of tourism products on offer, not only as a stand-alone destination but also in combination with others in Africa for twin-hub vacations.
