Seychelles Blue Economy Strategic Policy Framework and Roadmap launched

Stakeholders from the private sector who are involved with the Blue Economy gathered at the STC conference centre yesterday for a plenary session and the launch of the Blue Economy Strategic Policy Framework and Roadmap by the Blue Economy department alongside a delegation from the Commonwealth secretariat. 

The meeting consisted of several presentations facilitated by representatives and key officials from various organisations including the Seychelles Fishing Authority (SFA), Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Seychelles Investment Board (SIB), Seychelles Ports Authority (SPA) and the Small Enterprise Promotion Agency (Senpa) who outlined their contributions towards the Blue Economy as well as their future plans for the sector. Entrepreneurs and owners of micro, small and medium enterprises in Seychelles whose business operations are linked to the Blue Economy were invited to ask questions and voice their concern to the various organisations.

The aim of the session was to provide information to stakeholders on the strategic framework and roadmap, enhance engagement of local private stakeholders, discuss means by which the government can enhance the bankability of investment projects related to the Blue Economy and funding diversification. Ways to enhance local capacity and engagement in the local Blue Economy were also discussed.
