Claude Morel is the first high commissioner of Seychelles to be accredited to the Kingdom of Swaziland.
Mr Morel presented his credentials to His Majesty King Mswati III at the Lozitha Palace on June 19, 2004.
The King welcomed Mr Morel’s accreditation “as a means of renewing friendship and cooperation between the two countries”. 

He expressed the wish that both Swaziland and Seychelles “continue to work closely together to ensure that peace and stability remain an integral part in the realisation of economic growth in the SADC region”, and that they continue in their endeavour to “play a critical role in the region, continent, and global community towards the sustainable development of their respective countries”. 

He welcomed with appreciation the desire for Seychelles to stand as a candidate for a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the period 2017-18.

Mr Morel also met Prime Minister Subisiso Dlamini and other senior government officials. Discussions focused on the regional agenda being pursued within the ambit of SADC and Comesa, the positive evolution of the situation in neighbouring Madagascar and its reintegration in the SADC grouping, tapping the potential that exists within the framework of trade and investment between the two countries since the signing of a double taxation avoidance agreement in October 2012, as well as the eventual collaboration and exchange programmes in the sectors of tourism, culture, and sports.

Mr Morel, who is based in Pretoria, South Africa, was accompanied on his official calls by the honorary consul of Seychelles in Swaziland, Nasser Mansoor.
