Anse Lazio still better than the rest

The iconic beach’s pristine beauty has once again clinched a spot among the top 25 beaches in the world to impress tourists. Anse Lazio has the added bonus of being accessible to tourists all year round – on top of being blessed with majestic beaches, the Seychelles also has summer all year round!

Upon hearing the good news, the Seychelles Tourism Board’s Chief Executive Officer, Sherin Naiken, has expressed her joy at Anse Lazio featuring among the top best beaches in the world.

“Today STB proudly recognizes Anse Lazio Beach in the Seychelles as a recipient of the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice® Beaches awards,” she said.

Anse Lazio was voted as one of the best beaches following reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travelers who detailed their experiences of beach spots around the world, online.

In total, 276 winning beaches were named across Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Central America, Europe, the Middle East, the United Kingdom, and more.

“The Travelers’ Choice beaches winners have joined an elite list of destinations that are enjoyed and appreciated by a large community of travelers,” said Christine Petersen, President, TripAdvisor for Business. “This award is a great honor for the local tourism industry and reflects the destination’s great charm and appeal.”

The TripAdvisor accolade is the latest in many that Anse Lazio beach has collected over the years – among them are the World Travel Award in 2012.

A few years earlier, it had been praised for its “swimming, snorkeling” and “its wide beach is also ideal for ball games or impromptu volley ball,” reported the Daily Telegraph in the UK.

The TripAdviser is also a reassurance to the many visitors who had been reading of the shark attacks on that stretch of beach, which the Seychelles authorities have thankfully taken care of.
