• Sainte Anne Island presented with prestigious TripAdvisor 2015 Hall of Fame Award

 Mauritian group Beachcomber has been awarded the title of ‘Best Hotel Group’ by the        « Victoires du Tourisme » (Tourism Awards).

Accor and LUX* were ranked in second and third places respectively.

The first ‘Victoires du Tourisme’ tourism awards ceremony – organised by the French travel trade magazine ‘Le Quotidien du Tourisme’, in partnership with BFM Business – was held on June 3, 2015. 

Some 250 industry professionals gathered at the Intercontinental Paris Le Grand for the announcement of the results of the vote by travel agents to elect the best provider in ten different categories – Airlines, Railway Companies, Car Rental Companies, Cruise Lines, Theme Parks, Tour Operators, Hotel Chains, Travel Assurance-Assistance Companies, Local Authorities and Tourist Offices.

The 10 winners were presented with their ‘Victoires du Tourisme’ at a gala dinner hosted by the French TV presenter, Stéphane Rotenberg, in the presence of the French Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Development, in charge of Tourism, Laurent Fabius. The latter was recently named tourism personality of the year.
Beachcomber Hotels, which owns Sainte Anne Island Resort in Seychelles, topped the list in the category Hotel Chains. 

Further, Sainte Anne Island, together with six other Beachcomber hotels, have received TripAdvisor’s highest honour after being awarded the Certificate of Excellence for the fifth consecutive year, which is a rare feat in the tourism industry.

With these awards, the seven hotels enter the exclusive club of Star recipients of the Certificate of Excellence. This award recognises the consistency in the quality of the service they provide. It is given only to properties that continuously achieve outstanding reviews from travellers on the TripAdvisor website. The Hall of Fame Award was created to recognise hotels that have earned the Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years.
